Snowman Head
"This snowman is made by putting white glitter in a clear plastic ornament then fill it with craft batting. Then you paint a face on the front. The hat is made of red felt trimmed with craft fur and the ball on top is made of craft fur. The scarf is felt, clipped on the ends and a bell was sewn on. I used a pipe cleaner and two glitter pom poms for the ear muffs."

Materials List
- 80mm clear plastic ornament
- 1 red felt square
- 1 white fur craft square
- 1 silver bell
- 1/8" white satin ribbon
- 1 red glitter pipe cleaner
- 2 red glitter pom poms
- Black acrylic paint
- Orange acrylic paint
- Hot glue gun and hot glue
Instructions
-
Take the top off of your ornament, then put a small amount of white glitter inside and roll the ornament around to coat the inside with the glitter.
-
Fill the ornament with craft batting, using a craft stick to push the batting around and smooth it out, packing it in fairly tight. Then put the top back on.
-
Using a small paint brush, paint two round eyes with black paint, then 7 small black circles in a curve for the smile, starting with the one in the center. After the paint is dry paint a small comma of white in each eye for the highlights.
-
Paint a sideways triangle with orange paint for the carrot nose.
-
While the paint dries cut a piece of the white ribbon, about 10" long, and thread it through the loop at the top of the ornament, tying the ends together.
-
Cut a rectangle of red felt, 11" x 2", and bring the short ends together and hot glue, making sure the ends are straight. Turn inside out.
NotesThis isn't a hard ornament to make. It makes a nice gift, too. :)

This is such a cute ornament. It would be a lot of fun to make at an ornament crafting party. If you didn't want to use glitter and batting you can coat the ornament inside with two colors for a marbleized effect. I love the idea of having the earmuffs and adding a more wintery look. This would also be cute to attach to the center of a wreath!

I love this ornament! Have you tried gluing the inside of the bulb and just swirling the glitter around instead of adding batting? If so, how did that method work? I can see making these for our tree this year. Thanks for the post! I will definitely be making at least six of these for my tree.
