Instructions:
- Before starting with the design project, wash the piece of unbleached linen with baby shampoo and rinse it thoroughly in cold water to remove any sizing agent from the material. Do not add fabric softener.
- Allow the piece of unbleached linen to dry thoroughly and iron it lightly to remove any wrinkles from the material.
- Put the piece of unbleached linen flat on the working surface.
- Add a coat of fawn paint to the back of the leaf.
- Turn the leaf over and place it onto the linen. Lightly roll the toilet paper roll over the leaf.
- Repeat steps 4-5 until all the leaves have been added to the design. Allow to dry thoroughly.
- Use the red and orange Acrilpens to add some shadows to leaves.
- Use the red, yellow, brown and orange Acrilpens to add holly berries to the design.
- Use the Krismisroos stamp cut the flowers loose from the stamp, so that you will be left with three separate flowers. Use one of the flowers and the orange Acrilpen to stamp flowers onto the linen. Add some shadows to the leaves of the flowers with the red Acrilpen and color the centre of each flower with the brown Acrilpen. Allow the stamped flowers to dry thoroughly.
- Use two of the butterfly stamps and the Acrilpens to add butterflies to the design.
- Finish it off by adding green squiggly shapes.
- Cover the design with a sheet of unprinted paper and iron it to set the dyes.
- Overlock the edges of the unbleached linen to complete the tray cloth.
