Penguin and Snowman Frame

Display favorite holiday photos in a frame graced by two familiar winter characters.

• IIT01 - 3/4 in. Flat Brush

Americana Acrylics:

• DAO1 - Snow (Titanium) White
• DAO7 - Moon Yellow
• DAO34 - Lavender
• DAO42 - Baby Blue
• DAO67 - Lamp (Ebony) Black
• DA101 - Dioxazine Purple (transparent)
• DA228 - Bright Orange

Other Supplies:

• Permanent ink pens
• Rectangle wooden frame

Instructions:

1. If frame is not pre-painted, basecoat it Snow White with 3/4" flat brush.
    
2. Position decorative edge of template on frame bottom; pounce Baby Blue along template edge. Create scroll border in Baby Blue by repeating design around frame as needed.
    
3. Lightly pounce Lavender over scrolls.
    
4. Add Lavender dots and stars with stylus. Add Baby Blue dots.
    
5. Position snowman and dry brush edges to create snowman outline.
    
6. Add scarf with Lavender and shade with Dioxazine Purple. Add Snow White lines. Mouth and eyes are dots of Lamp Black; nose is Bright Orange.
    
7. Base penguins in Lamp Black. Overlay belly and beak: belly is Snow White and beak is Moon Yellow. Shade bellies with Baby Blue. Shade beaks with Bright Orange. Eyes are dots of Snow White with smaller Lamp Black dots. Cheeks have highlights of Snow White dots.
    
8. Scarves are Lavender, decorated with Snow White lines and dots.
    
9. Add linework and personalize frame with permanent ink pens.
