Paper Crafted Vase

Use your favorite scrapbook paper to decorate your home! Make this easy vase with one sheet of foam and adorn with your favorite paper products.  There are so many possibilities!

Papercrafted Decorative Vase

Materials:

  • STYROFOAM™Brand Foam:
    • Cubes, 3", three
  • Paper of choice, 12" x 12"
  • Artificial flowers:t ry  six yellow gerbera daisies OR seven grape hyacinth stems and three small purple filler flowers; or selection of your choice
  • Small amount reindeer moss, bright green or color of your choice
  • Bone folder
  • Ruler
  • Pencil
  • Floral shears
  • Scissors
  • Low temperature glue gun and glue sticks
  • White, thick craft glue
  • Wrinkle-free paper adhesive (Optional)
  • Personal paper trimmer with scoring blade
     

Steps:

  1. Use glue gun to glue foam cubes one on top of the next to measure 9" tall.
     
  2. Cut one 9" x 12" rectangle and one 3" square from patterned paper of choice. Use paper trimmer fitted with scoring blade to score larger paper piece every 3" or simply wrap paper around foam and finger-crease corners. Remove paper and crease folds using bone folder.
     
  3. Glue paper to foam, aligning folds with foam corners. Hold paper in place until glue dries. Glue paper square to bottom of foam vase. Use glue gun to glue moss to top of vase, covering surface.
     
  4. Trim floral stems using floral shears. Apply hot glue to stems and insert into top of vase, using photo as guide. Glue small bits of moss to any exposed stems.
