You Blow My Mind

“You blow my mind” . . . I know, kind of a juvenile saying, but don’t hate. Even if it is juvenile, no one doesn’t want to hear it. So, here’s a way to make this saying into such a strong visual that every time your giftee hears it, they will immediately think of you.

Materials List

  • Materials

    • Printer paper

    • Cardstock

    • Pink balloon

    • Glitter or money (optional)

  • Tools

    • Markers

    • Scissors

    • Tape

    • White glue

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. First up, channel your inner artist and draw a face on the printer paper from the nose up to the forehead. Hold off on drawing the hair, though. Instead, imagine the top of the head has “exploded” (in a totally non-gory, fun way, I promise). Here’s a basic sketch to guide you, but feel free to tweak the facial features to suit your style.

Once your masterpiece is complete, cut it out and set it aside.

  2. Next, write a small note on a strip of printer paper that reads, “You blow my mind.” Blow up the pink balloon and stuff your note inside the balloon before you tie it off.

If you’re feeling extra creative, grab your markers and doodle a brain on the balloon. Just remember to let the ink dry completely before handling it—no smudgy brains here!

  3. Tape down the knot of the balloon to the middle section of the cardstock paper. Take your drawing and place it on the cardstock paper. The knot of the balloon should lay a little under the forehead. Once the placement looks right, glue the bottom and sides of the drawing and write, “Pop Me!” on the balloon. Your person will pop the balloon “brain” to reveal the note exclaiming that they blow your mind. It is such a unique way to let someone know that they are absolutely awesome.

Tip: If you’re creating this for a birthday or other special occasion, feel free to add glitter, money and other goodies directly inside the balloon for them to find once it is popped!
