Embellished Cat Photo
Here's a quick photo embellishment idea for showcasing your pet's photo on any scrapbook page or even for a greeting card. The beads and metallic threads add that touch of bling to show off your special pet in a fun way.
Materials:
- Photo
- Blue cardstock
- Small cabochons
- 3/4" Treasure Trim
- Diamond Beadlets
- Fiskars scalloped edgers
- Kreinik 1/8" Ribbon 018V Vintage Navy, 002J Japan Gold
- Kreinik #12 Tapestry Braid 032 Pearl
Steps:
- Cut your cardstock to the right size- measure your photo and add 3.5" to each dimension (7.5 x 9.5 for a 4x6 photo). Use your paper edgers to make scallops on each side of the cardstock. Mount your photo in the center.
- Place strips of your 3/4" trim around your photo. Overlap your photo slightly with the edges of the tape. Peel back the red liner on each piece and set aside.
- Begin embellishing your border. Outline the outside and inside edge with 018V Vintage Navy ribbon. Make a second border with the 002J Japan Gold ribbon. Place your cabochons along the tape, pressing firmly. Finish with the 032 Pearl braid, zig-zagging around your cabochons. When finished, use the red liner to press your threads securely into the tape.
- Place your photo in a shallow tray or ziplock bag and pour diamond beadlets on the exposed tape. Swirl with your fingers to cover fully, and then tap to remove excess beadlets.
