Leather Clutch Purse
Use recycled leather from an old jacket or bag to create a stylish little leather clutch purse. Follow this sewing tutorial from Jenya of MyEvaForeva to make this quick and easy clutch.
Materials:
- Leather
- Fabric for lining
- Sewing Machine
- Thread
Instructions:
You will start with two identical pieces - one leather piece and one lining.
Determine where the sides of your clutch will end - mark it with a pen. Sew the pieces together (wrong side out) only around the closure part and the opposite side like it's shown in the photo below.
When you turn it the right side out it should look like this.
Turn it the wrong side out again and fold it as shown on the photo below. You will need to sew the sides of leather pieces and then the sides of the lining (just one side of the lining actually).
It should look like this. Sorry for the blurry photo.
Turn it the right side out.
Close the opening in the lining.
When you insert the lining inside the clutch it's going to look like this. Not really complete look, right?
Sew all around along the edge. I secured it on the right side to keep the clutch closed when not in use.
Done. Of course you are welcome to decorate it any way you'd like. I chose it leave it as it is - I like the look of natural leather and the pattern of the lining.

This isn't good instructions at all. I do not know what you are using to sew (meaning needle). It get confusing from the time you say determine where I want my clutch will end. You should at least show how you did yours. its easy to show pictures but to show others we need more directions.

Very cute idea. Can you mention what size sewing needle was used on your sewing machine? I am a newbie making clutch purses and keep getting bobbin thread jammed. Should I use a heavier weight needle or a commercial type machine? Thanks Helen
