this is a lovely shaped bag. I have made several, at 70% size, of different fabrics, including straps. It would be perfect if there was a way to attach straps before body assembly.

Using canvas fabric for is cute little bag makes a lot of sense and will help it to last longer! As an alternative, you could make the straps with cording and fabric cut on the bias sewn around it. Or you could make flat straps reinforced with thicker weight interfacing out of the canvas fabric itself or a coordinating fabric. Adding inside pockets as suggested is a really practical touch. Thanks for a great project!
