Assembly

  1. Draw and cut one 21/2" diameter circle from cardstock.

  2. Use the cardstock circle to trace and cut out two felt circles.

  3. Glue the cardstock circle inside the two felt circles to create a disc.

  4. Repeat the disc making process to create several felt covered discs.

  5. Wind thread around the disc, leaving a 6-inch tail.

  6. Continue to wind the thread around the entire disc while rotating clockwise, with 1/8" space between each thread.

  7. Tie the two ends of the thread together in a knot when the entire disc is wound. Use the ends of the thread to tie the disc ornament to a Christmas garland or tree.

  8. Repeat the steps to create several ornaments with all the different colors of felt and thread.

  9. Tie all the completed Christmas Disc Ornaments to your holiday tree or garland. These beautiful ornaments are also great to use on gift wrap, or to hang together as a garland!

'Tis the Season to Celebrate! Discover More Christmas Crafts

If you enjoyed making our Christmas Disc Ornaments, we have a few more festive craft ideas for you to try! Here are three Christmas crafts that will add some handmade charm to your holiday décor:

1. Glitter Snowflake Ornaments: For this sparkly project, you'll need wooden snowflake shapes, white paint, glitter, and clear glue. Paint each snowflake with white paint, then brush on a layer of clear glue and sprinkle with glitter. Once dry, attach a loop of ribbon to hang on your tree or around your home.

2. Personalized Photo Ornaments: Take your favorite family photos and turn them into custom ornaments! Print out the photos in small sizes, cut them into circles to fit your ornament shape, and glue them onto the disc. Add a layer of clear glue or Mod Podge to protect the image and let it dry before adding a ribbon for hanging.

3. Pom-Pom Garland: Brighten up your Christmas tree with a colorful pom-pom garland! Simply make pom-poms in assorted colors and sizes, then string them onto a length of twine or ribbon. Hang the garland around your tree, along a mantel, or even on a staircase for a playful touch.
