Size: about 10 1/2 inches-sitting
Materials:
- WW Yarn: (amts are approximate)
- 2oz. Either Green or Dark Red for bag
- Either homemade or store bought pompom (around 1 1/2 inches)
- 2 oz. Brown
- 3 oz. Red
- 2 oz. White
- Size F hook (for bear)
- Size G hook (for bag, hat & trim)
- Yarn needle
- Fiberfill
Gauge: 4 sc and 4 sc rows = 1 inch.
Notes: Weave in loose ends as work progresses. Rnds are joined and turned at the end.
Stitch Note: CL (cluster) = YO and draw up a loop twice in stitch indicated, YO and
throughall loops on hook.
Front Section Of Body
Row 1: Starting at top of head with F hook and brown yarn, ch 5,work 2 sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each next 2 chs, 2 sc in last ch, ch 1, turn. (6 sc)
Row 2: Work 2 sc in each sc across, ch 1, turn. (12 sc)
Row 3: Work a sc in each sc across, ch 1, turn.
Row 4: Work 2 sc in next sc, sc in each sc to last sc, work 2 sc in last sc, ch 1, turn. (14 sc)
Row 5: Work a sc in each sc across, ch 1, turn.

Coat Trim (for around the waist)
Note: Depending upon the amount of stuffing you use in your bear, you may need to
decrease or increase the amount of rows for trim....adjust as needed.
Row 1: With white yarn and hook size G, ch 4, sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each next 2 chs, ch 1, turn. (3 sc)
Row 2: CL in next sc, sc in next sc, CL in last sc, ch 1, turn.
Row 3: Sc in each stitch across, ch 1, turn.
Rows 4 - 40: Repeat rows 2 & 3 alternately.
At the end of row 40, do not ch 1, fasten off.
Wrap trim around body over rows 25 -29. With a length of white yarn, sew ends of
row 1 and 40 together than tack trim in place.
Legs (Make 2)
Rnd 1: With brown yarn and size F hook and starting at foot, ch 2, work 6 sc in 2nd chain from hook, join, ch 1, turn. (6 sc)
Rnd 2: Work 2 sc in each sc around, join, ch 1, turn. (12)
Rnd 3: (Sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) repeat around, join, ch 1, turn. (18 sc)
Rnd 4: Sc in each of next 6 sc, 2 sc in next sc, work 2 sc in each of next 6 sc, sc in each next 6 sc, join, ch 1, turn. (24 sc)

Ears (Make 4)
Row 1: With brown yarn and hook F, ch 3, work 2 sc in 2nd ch from hook and 2 sc in next ch, ch 1, turn. (4 sc)
Row 2: work 2 sc in each sc across, ch 1, turn. (8 sc)
Row 3 : Work a sc in each sc across, ch 1, turn.
Row 4: work a sc in each sc across, ch 1 *but do not turn*.
Working down side of ear and around to opposite side, work sc evenly around edge of ear having 2 sc in opposite side of each of the 2 beginning chains, join in 1st sc of row 4, fasten off.
Sew 2 ear sections together to form one ear, sew ears to top of head over rows 1 - 8.
Muzzle
Rnd 1: With brown yarn and size F hook, ch 2, work 6 sc in 2nd chain from hook, join, ch 1, turn. (6 sc)
Rnd 2: Work 2 sc in each sc around, join, ch 1, turn. (12 sc)
Rnd 3: (Sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) repeat around, join, ch 1, turn. (18 sc)
Rnd 4: Work a sc in each sc around, join, ch 1, turn.
Rnd 5: (Sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) repeat around, join, ch 1, turn. (24 sc)
Rnd 6: Work a sc in each sc around, join, fasten off.
Stuff muzzle and sew to center of face over rows 9 - 16 adding more fiberfill if necessary before closing.
With black yarn embroider eyes over muzzle, embroider nose and mouth on muzzle.
Leg Trim (Make 2)
Row 1:With white yarn and size G hook, ch 2, work sc in 2nd ch from hook, ch 1, turn (1 sc)
Row 2: Work a CL in next sc, ch 1, turn. (1 CL)
Row 3: Sc in next sc, ch , turn.
Rows 4- 17: Work rows 2 & 3 alternately.
Row 18: Work a CL in next sc, leaving a sewing length, fasten off.
Sew trim to the top of each ankle.
Arm Trim (make 2)
Work as for leg trim for 14 rows. Sew trim at each wrist.
Neck Trim
Work as for leg trim for 20 rows. Sew trim around neck.
Center Coat Trim
Work as for leg trim for 6 rows but do not sew ends together at the end.
Sew to center front of body lengthwise connecting it between neck and bottom trim.
Hat
Rnd 1: Starting at point of hat with red yarn and hook size G, ch 4, work 5 dc in 4th chain from hook, join in top of beg chain 4, ch 3 turn. (6 dc)
*Note: beginning chain-3's count as 1st dc.*
Rnd 2: (Dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc) repeat around, join in top of beg ch 3, ch 3, turn. (9 dc)
Rnd 3: (dc in next 2 dc, 2 dc in next dc) repeat around, join in top of beg ch 3, ch 3, turn. (12 dc)
Rnd 4: (dc in next 3 dc, 2 dc in next dc) repeat around, join in top of beg ch 3, ch 3, turn. (15 dc)
Rnd 5: (dc in next 4 dc, 2 dc in next dc) repeat around, join in top of beg ch 3, ch 3, turn. (18 dc)

Sew hat to top of head in desired position.

Rnd 1: With hook size G and green yarn, ch 4, work 11 dc in 4th chain from hook, join, ch 3, turn. (12 dc)
Rnd 2:Work 2 dc in each dc around, join, ch 1, turn. (24 dc)
Rnd 3: (Dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc) repeat around, join, ch 3, turn. (36 dc)
Rnd 4: Dc in each dc around, join, ch 3, turn.
Rnds 5- 9: Rep rnd 4.
Rnd 10: Dc in each dc around, join, ch 1, turn.
Rnd 11: (Sc in next st, ch 1, sk next st) rep around, join, turn.
Rnd 12: Sl st into next ch 1 sp, ch 1, work 3 sc in each ch 1 sp around, join, fasten off.
Weave in loose ends.
Pull String
With green and size G hook, ch 50, leaving a length for threading into needle, fasten off.
Thread yarn length into yarn needle and weave chain string through the ch 1 sps of rnd 11, without pulling tightly, tie in a bow.
Attach sack to paws with a few stitches.
Sack can be filled with mini candy canes or other small wrapped candies.
