FRINGE
Cut 24-6" pieces of yarn for fringe.
Place three 6" pieces in each stitch along the short ends. (see above Fringe instructions)
Insert hook in the stitch. Fold all strands of yarn in half. Using the hook, draw the folded ends of the yarn up through the stitch and pull the loose ends through the folded end. This completes a fringe and all you need to do is tighten up the knot by pulling on the strands of yarn. Continue with this method until you have added all of your fringe. You can trim the ends even with scissors after all fringes are added.
OTHER OPTIONS FOR THIS PATTERN:
-
Make the same pattern without the fringe.
-
Make it long enough to fit around your neck, add a button and you have a nice choker.
- Make it extra long and use if as a belt. You can tie it, add a buckle for a fastener or simply pull one end through one of the ch2 spaces.

scarf is cute and both patterns are easy, but the poncho needed to be longer to actually look like one.

I like this pattern and style. I don't care for the poncho because it looks more like a dickey to me. Ponchos usually cover the arms and are the same length all around.

What little girl wouldn't like to have a lacy scarf like this with long pretty fringe, for herself and her doll!?
