Cherry Blossom Wreath

Celebrate spring with decorative outdoor wreaths like this lovely Cherry Blossom Wreath. Jamielyn Nye's step-by-step guide to decorative front door wreaths will brighten your spirits and your decor.

Materials:

Plain wreath from craft store
Spray paint
Cherry blossoms
Decorative bird house
Nest and eggs
Ribbon or yarn wire
Hot glue
Ralph Lauren glaze

Instructions:

The first thing you’ll want to do is spray paint your wreath. There are so many fun colors… so get creative!
Then you’ll grab your cherry blossoms branches and cut them each off.
Next I hot glued the cherry blossoms branches around the wreath.
Take a step back and look to see where it needs to be filled in more. You can also pull the individual flowers off and glue them to fill space. You can stop there, add a ribbon and call it quits… or keep going!
I found the cutest little wooden bird houses. Snatch up one of these bird houses and paint it however you’d like. I painted mine white and did the trim in lime green. Then I distressed it with the Ralph Lauren glaze. I also added glaze to my little eggs that I painted white.
I found these cute little nests. I spray painted my nests lime green and then hot glued them onto my wreath.
I wrapped the wreath with the yarn wire and then hung the bird house from it. I did have to screw in a little eyelet screw and tie a little knot around it to hold it in place. And then you are finished!

This is very pretty. The colors used are very classy and chic. I would prefer not to add the nests and eggs, but I just love the idea of adding a birdhouse. However, I agree with previous comments - it would be a very beautiful wreath even without these additions.

This is a very classy and traditional look for any decor. I can see economizing a bit by using found objects in the yard and around the house just by getting creative to add to whatever you need to purchase for this project. You may even want to change out a classy trailing ribbon to reflect the season... Reds for the holidays or Valentine's Day, pastels for spring, or match the sofa or wall colors, perhaps! Lots of fun and pretty options!

This is adorable! I already listed the items I need to get started. I love birds and have lots of homemade bird houses out back so this would accentuate my theme of birds. Thanks for the article!

Very cute! I also appreciate that the author gave permission to stop before adding all of the decorations & calling it good. It's important to remember that sometimes less is more! I like the tastefulness of this design -- simpler & not so overdone.
