Heirloom Recipes DIY Framed Wall Art

Create DIY kitchen wall decor using recipes that have been handed down for generations. Even though most of us store our recipes on the computer now, that doesn't mean you can't put the physical copies to good use. Hang your recipes on the kitchen wall as a lovely vintage piece of decor. If the recipes are stained from years of cooking, that's a great detail! The best part is you can actually easily reference these recipes still if they're hanging on the wall. Just take it down while you cook and hang it back up again when you're done.

Even though we all tend to use the internet more than our printed cooking instructions, heirloom recipes deserve some love in our kitchens alongside our tablets or phones.

We wanted to have the recipe lay on top of a mat, but also wanted some texture for the background. Gorilla Spray Adhesive was the go-to glue because it works on fabric and is photo safe. Now these generational items can be beautifully displayed for all kitchen guests to see.

Start the project by looking through the recipes to pick out which ones to frame. We chose ones that were classic recipes that you could see the entire recipe on one side.
Venture to your local thrift store to find frames for the recipes. We wanted a mat look around the recipes without actually creating a mat. A yard of burlap and mat board from our local craft store did the trick.
Taking the large mat, spray Gorilla Glue Spray Adhesive onto the mat and the back of the burlap. Working in sections of about 7 inches in height at a time, move through the mat.
After adhering the burlap to the mat board, cut out each section using the glass already provided in the frame. EASY. Using a circular cutter and then small knife, cut each one to a perfect size. Gorilla Glue Spray Adhesive does a great job of keeping the fabric in place.
After cutting them out, just pop them into the frames and add the recipes.
