What is the color of yarn in the picture

Hi there! I did a little digging and it looks like Yarnspirations slightly adjusted the colorways. The yarn is now called Bernat Softee Chunky, and I believe the closest colorway to this picture is called "Shadow Ombre". I hope that helps!

The size of this afghan works out to be around 50" wide if knit to gauge using Bernat Chunky Ombre. The yarn requirements calling for 3 skeins of this yarn are the jumbo sized skeins with Meterage/Yardage 251 m/ 275 yds Ball Weight 300 grams/ 10.5 oz. The 2.8 oz balls only contain 76 yards so you will need to adjust the number or skeins accordingly if you choose the smaller balls of yarn. You will need at least 3 and 1/2 small skeins to equal one large skein.

I have started on this afghan and I love it - it's beautiful! I measured for gauge after I worked about 8" because size wasn't important as it isn't a garment. Well, let me tell you that 4 skeins of this year will not get you far. I originally ordered 5, and I am going to order about 10 more skeins. Two skeins barely got me to 8 inches. I'm on the third skein of yarn and have maybe 8 1/2" and am going to order 10 more skeins. The person who said this afghan can be made with 4 skeins must have been making a scarf! Has anyone else found this to be true?

Really? I've made this blanket many times and always have a little left over. 4 of the 10.5 oz. balls are always more than enough for me, I've wondering if you bought the smaller balls

The yarn changed. The second time I made this afghan the yarn was much thicker and heavier so it went nowhere near as far. I used a LOT of yarn, had to buy more twice. It was very, very bulky even on the 30" round needles, could barely fit on those needles. It took me two years to finish this thing, but I made it 60" long, but it is nearly as wide! I will never make this afghan again. It may be pretty but I'm sick of it. Working on the same thing for 2 years? Forget it. The first time it took me nowhere near as long. It takes 1/2 hour to do one row! And it is very wide!

I have been looking for something like this pattern. I will strat it as soon as I get the yarn. I have made jackets, shaws, and other things. I really like knitting it relaxes me. I use to quilt and still love to, but can't cause of my back. However, I want to strat doing one that I can do a block at a time. If I can find a pattern for one to do I will. I keep these emails so I can go back to them. Thank you so very much for having this crafts for people like me. I am a shutin handicaped person in a wheelchair and I enjoy doing crafts. God Bless you.

Can't wait to start this project. Have been waiting sooooo long for a project to help me "jumpstart" my knitting again after a 10-year hiatis. Thanks for the easy pattern.
