What a pretty afghan. I use to knit but got into crochet when I realized I could do that faster. Now I am retired and have plenty of time to work on my crafts so I m getting back into knitting. Thus is a perfect pattern for that,it's so easy! Thank you!

I am hoping you can help me ) I made the Peaceful Lap Afghan a while back (2.5 years) and it turned out beautifully, however, my friend brought it to me and asked if I could "FIX" it ( It was for her son and he loves his "Blankie". I am not having much success in figuring out HOW to fix it. I would appreciate HELP!! or direction to someone who can. I am including a few photographs to illustrate the problem ) Thank you.

Oh no! This is so sad! The project is so lovely but what a bummer about that section. It looks like a stitch must have fallen out and a bunch of them unraveled! I found a video that I hope will be helpful. Just copy and paste this link into the search bar. I hope it helps! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=btvnijWBUfw

Thanks - this would work if only had a few stitches, however, the size of the hole makes this not work. Appreciate the info.

Shoot! This video shows a slightly larger hole being fixed---perhaps it might help? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SGHX-McRmEM

The number of skeins needed to complete this pattern is at the top of the instructions Materials Yarn RED HEART SuperSaver 2 skeins 883 Spa Blue A, 3 skeins 931 Seagrass B. So it would take five skeins total. I use a formula for picking up edging stitches. I pick up three stitches for every four rows of knit. This seems to make the edging lie flat and I am pretty sure this would work for this pattern too. Just make sure you end up with a number of stitches divisible by four 2 ... For example 200 2 = 202 stitches.

I am sorry about the previous post, the plus sign doesn't seem to work. So here's the instructions for picking up an edge again. I pick up three stitches for every four rows of knit. This seems to make the edging lie flat and I am pretty sure this would work for this pattern too. Just make sure you end up with a number of stitches divisible by four plus 2 ... For example 200 plus 2 = 202 stitches.

The side edges took 3 attempts for this rookie (not a pattern problem, a learning leap) and I am very happy with the results. There isn't a mathmatical pattern to " pick up and knit 194 sts" but I placed markers and finally got the count on both sides. I would give this pattern a hgih rating if I could find out where to do that, lol!

Could you tell me how many skeins of yarn it takes to make this afgan pattern? I don't see where it gives this information. I'm a beginner knitter. Was this an easy project to knit? Thanks. Betty Bryant

I'm just beginning the Side Edges and need more info regarding when to skip picking up a stitch in order to knit 194 sts evenly. I will post once I am successful with it.
