Indian Print Pillow
Dying for some air brush ideas? This Indian Print Pillow from ColorArtz is a quick and easy way to get started and a cute way to update some old throw pillows!
Materials:
- ColorArtz Starter Kit
- Cream color pillow
- Blue Painter's Masking Tape
- Newsprint
- ColorArtz Rockin' Moroccan Stencil Collection
- Gremlin ColorArtz Paint Pouch
Instructions:
- Prepare a flat work surface with a drop cloth.
- If you are new to ColorArtz practice on sample.
- Remove stuffing from pillow and lay flat.
- Remove stencil backing and place self-adhesive stencil onto the center of the pillow. We recommend using stencil adhesive when using non-adhesive stencils for best results.
- Make sure stencil is fully adhered to the pillow.
- Make stripes with masking tape. Mask off the area that will not be sprayed.
- Place sheets of newsprint and tape over the four corners that will not be sprayed. Make sure the entire pillow is fully covered and only the areas to be painted are uncovered.
- Apply Gremlin color spraying light mist coats. Do not soak with paint. Be careful not to spray at an angle to avoid lifting the stencil. To reach a darker color, apply many light coats,letting dry a few minutes in between sprays.
- Let project dry.
- Remove masking tape, newsprint and stencil.
- Place stencil in center of one of the corners.
- Mask edges of stencil with tape and cover remaining pillow area with newsprint.
- Apply Gremlin color spraying light mist coats. Do not soak with paint. Be careful not to spray at an angle to avoid lifting the stencil. To reach a darker color, apply many light coats, letting dry a few minutes in between sprays.
- Let project dry.
- Repeat steps 10 through 14 for the remaining 3 corners.
