Painted Tree Ornament
Turn that plain ornament into a personalized ornament by using paint enamels and your creativity. Paint a lovely tree on there and give it as a gift.This can be done in eight steps.
Materials:
- DecoArt Products Required
- Americana Gloss Enamels
- DAG01 - White
- DAG34 - Lavender
- DAG52 - Avocado
- DAG67 - Black
- DAG151 - Royal Fuchsia
- DAG163 - Honey Brown
- DAG201 - Primary Yellow
- DAG269 - Foliage Green
- DAG276 - Razzle Berry
- 3 1/2" clear glass ornament
- #10/0 liner brush
- #6 round brush
- #3 round brush
- Water container
- Palette or plastic plate
- Paper towels
- Alcohol
- Medium sponge pouncer
Steps:
Note: Let dry between steps.
Preparation: Clean ornament with alcohol. Dry well with paper towel or soft cloth.
- Use sponge pouncer and White to pounce "snow" on bottom 1/3 of ornament.
- Use flat brush to blend Razzle Berry and Royal Fuchsia on back half of ornament, from snow line to top of ornament. (Leave front of ornament unpainted.)
- Use flat brush to paint Foliage Green tree. While still wet, float on Avocado and White on tree in wisps.
- Use flat brush and Honey Brown to paint tree trunk.
- Use tip of brush and Lavender to dot on ornaments.
- With #3 round brush and Primary Yellow, paint star on top of tree.
- Use flat brush to float Royal Fuchsia under base of trunk for shadow.
- Use liner brush and Black to line star, tree, trunk, and Razzle Berry/Royal Fuchsia shadowing.
