Video Project: Life is Good Spring Card
Create a colorful card for spring covered in multi-colored butterflies. Terri Sproul demonstrates how to make the Memories Mist card in the project video.
Materials:
- Ink: India Ink
- Memories Mists: Cheery Smoothie, Blue Lagoon, Mango Lemonade, Iced Coffee
- Silk: Apricot, Fuchsia
- Butterfly Boarder Brass Stencil
- White tag
- Vellum tag
- Rub – on: The Robin’s Nest “Viva”
- Heart paper clip
- Transparence or Vinyl Cover: Office Supply Store
- Ribbon: Anna Griffin or Craft store
- Stamps: “Carol’s Flower” (large) and “Imagination Butterfly”
- Teflon Sheet or any Non-stick craft sheet
- Adhesive: Zip Dry
- Pattern Paper: “Teal Glitter” from The Robin’s Nest
Instructions:
- Stamp “carol’s Flower (large)” onto transparence using India Ink – set aside to dry.
- Rub-on “Life is Good” from The Robin’s Nest “Viva” collection onto Small Vellum tag. Set Aside.
- When Ink is dry on your transparency (about 15 minute) HINT: stamp this image before you go to bed – then in the morning you can get right into your project with no worries about messing it up.
- On the opposed side of the transparency from where you stamp your image, Color in flowers using Silk. I used “Fuchsia” Silk on the peddles and “Apricot” Silk on the center of the flower. Set aside to dry. When Silk is dry – only a few minutes – cut out image.
- Spray 3 to 4 colors of Memories Mists on top Teflon sheet, next to each other BUT not touching. Press stamp “Imagination Butterfly” straight down into Memories Mists and right onto White card stock – heat set as soon as you remove your stamp. This stops the Memories Mists from spreading further. Continue to Stamp image by continuing to ink with Memories Mists on Teflon Sheet or add a light mist of water to image and stamp. Matte Image onto “Teal Glitter” Pattern Paper.
- Set brass stencil of butterfly onto white tag – cover with post –it notes or scratch paper to protect any of the tag that show. Stray Memories Mist “Cherry Smoothie” – heat set and then spray Memories Mists “Mango Lemonade. Remove Stencil to revile stenciled image.
- Adhere Matted Butterfly image on card base, add Ribbon down left side, Add both tags and Transparency flower.

The video and detailed instructions are fantastic. Where do you find the Silks? I am in a very small town and have to drive over an hour to find a craft store. Are they expensive? I live on SS and it seems I always need a new product that I can't afford.
