Simple Painted Vases
Floral display vases can add dimension and color to your table centerpiece. Simple Painted Vases, like these from Jamielyn Nye, are not only great for centerpieces, but look striking on a candy table or even on a small living room table.
Materials:
- Clear vases
- Paint
- Paper towel
Instructions:
- Pour some paint inside the vase and swirl it around till it covers the inside. If your paint is thick you may want to dilute it with water first.
- After the paint covers the vase, pour the excess back into the can. Then wipe the rim of the vase with a damp paper towel and let it dry for 48 hours.

This is such a great idea. One question, if I want to put fresh flowers and water, will paint come off. I have so many flower vases and I'd love to this in different colors for different holidays.

I tried this with an old mason jar that I had stashed in my cupboard. My kitchen is mostly red, so I went for it and used bright red paint. It came out fantastic. I ended up putting it up over my cupboards so that you can see it when you enter, and it definitely adds a real pop. It actually took a little longer than that for mine to dry, but perhaps that's because of the shape. Easy and fun. I have a couple of mismatched vases I had accumulated and want to try multiple modern colors to use in the living room. My son found this to be a fun project too.

Your instructions are numbered wrong. #1 is #2, #2 is #1. Other than that, I like the craft. It would be easy to change or swirl colors.
