Funky Button Tank
Turn plain tank tops into colorful works of art with this funky button tank idea. You'll learn how to refashion a shirt on a budget. This project is perfect for long nights in front of the TV.
Materials:
- Tank top or T-shirt
- Assorted buttons
- Needle and thread
Instructions:
- Try on your tank top and mark where you want your design to go. You can use chalk, a fabric pencil, or even pins to mark.
- Hand sew buttons around the perimeter of your design, keeping in mind that the shirt will stretch when you wear it, so the buttons should be sewn closer together than you'd think.
- Fill in the rest of the space with buttons, varying the size, shape, and color of buttons that you place next to each other. Make sure to try on the shirt several times during this process to see how the buttons lie when worn.

What a great idea for covering up a stain on a favorite shirt or tank top, too. I always seem to get a spot of tomato sauce or mustard on the upper chest area of that favorite or new light-colored top. You've inspired me!
