- Worsted weight yarn in color of your choice: Contrast Color 3(CC3) 40 yards
- Hook US H (5.00 mm)
Gauge: 8 dc x 4 Rounds = 2”
Size:
- Kids: 19 – 21” x 7” long
- Teens/Adults: 21 – 24” x 8” long

Crown
At end of each round, join with sl st to beg st.
- Rnd 1: With MC, make a magic loop, 10 sc in loop, join.
- Rnd 2: Ch2 (does not count as stitch here or throughout), 2dc in each st, join. (20 dc)
- Rnd 3: Ch2, dc in same st, 2dc in next st, [dc in next, 2dc in next] around to end, join (30 dc)

- Rnd 9: Ch2, dc in each st, join.
- Repeat Round 9 until hat measures 3 ½” from crown for Kids and 4 ½” for Teen/Adult.
Band
For the remainder of the hat, the stitch count will be the same as your last Round worked.
- Rnd 1: Join CC1, working in BLO, ch1, sc in each st, join.
- Rnd 2: Working in BLO, ch1, sc in each st, join.
- Rnd 3: Join CC2, working in BLO, ch2, dc in each st. Join with sl st to beg dc, join.
- Rnd 4: Join CC3, ch1, hdc in each st, join.
- Rnd 5: Ch1, [FPdc, BPdc] to end, join.
- Rnds 6 – 8: Ch1, FPdc in each FPdc and BPdc in each BPdc of the previous round, join.
- Rnd 9: Join CC2, ch2, dc in each st, join.
