Materials:
Black Headband:
- 1 1/8" wide stretch band trim
- 1 yard of large floral motif trim, each motif measuring 3"
- Hand sewing needle and matching thread.
White Headband:
- 1 1/8" wide stretch band trim
- 5/8 yard of small floral motif trim, each motif measuring 2"
- Hand sewing needle and matching thread.
Instructions:
- Cut a length of the stretch band measuring 21" long. Fold trim in half with right sides together, matching cut edges. Stitch edges in a ½" seam.
- Press seam allowances to one side. On the right side, top stitch ¼" away from the seam. Trim off excess seam allowance.
- Do not cut motifs apart - keeping trim as one piece, begin with the first flower on one end of the length of trim.
- Fold first flower in half, with right sides together; tack together at lower edge.
- Place next flower on top, fold in half with right sides together; tack both flowers together at the lower edge.
- Repeat with each flower, tacking flowers together at the lower edge as you go, until all flowers have been used. Tie off thread to secure.
- Tack finished flower to headband, covering the headband seam.
