I think one of the main things to remember NEVER use fabric softner when washing any kind of rug, I have only crocheted ones using fabric not sure about yarn.

I think this rug is beautiful. However, how can you use 2 strands of yarn if the pattern only calls for 1 ball of each color?

I have been reluctant to make rugs simply because I was afraid their finished weight would be too much for my automatic washer. Has anyone had that problem?

@fmarthil 0094958 I found a spray grip called SUPER GRIP RUG SPRAY. You can get it online. It doesn't make a thick backing but stops rugs from slipping and it says it's washable and won't pick up lint etc. Here's one place you can get it: http://www.shopgetorganized.com/item/SUPER_GRIP_RUG_SPRAY/34535?src=GOFRGL08&CAWELAID=728225751

All the rugs are attractive and functional in all the yarns I have used; however I have a definite problem with their slipping on wood floors. Years ago I crocheted rugs and used a product in spray-cans which took care of the slipping and washed very well (only the initial spraying was required). Now all I can find is tape to stick to the rugs; the tape does not remain in place during the washing process. Does anyone know something ese I can use?

I've found with rugs as long as the yarns are the same content and are pre-shrunk, you can use just about anything. Just remember, its a rug and will need to be washed!

does this have to be the cotton? or what about crafters yarn? ty krackers50@netins.net
