Tea towels have such a nice crisp and sturdy feel to them and they wear very well. A trip to the local thrift shop, garage sale or estate sale could provide some vintage tea towels for a very unique look, as another option to using new ones, depending upon your preferences. The look of these totes is very clean and sharp, and the addition of pockets is very practical. For so,e embellishment, you could add fabric ric rac or a few buttons either randomly or in a neat row here and there. Great idea, love it!

What a perfectly marvelous idea. It's easy and very inexpensive. A trip to the dollar store will get me the towels. I make purses and sell them, but I never seem to have one for myself. This is going in my car so I will have it at hand when I need it. It's easy to fold and pack away.

I love tote bags. It seems I can never find one when I need one, though! Anyone else have that situation? I do love an easy pattern like this one too. I like the idea of using existing kitchen tea towels, as the fabric is usually quite sturdy. Since they are made of this towel fabric, it also means they are easy to wash and care for. So how many of these lovelies do you make?
